Coalition for the Homeless Poster: “How can you worship a homeless man…”

This is a poster produced by the Coalition for the Homeless, the advocacy group that organized and financed the landmark Mixon v. Grinker lawsuit which expanded the rights of HIV+ unhoused people to medically appropriate shelter. The poster is currently on display at the New York Historical Society, located on the Upper West Side, as part of an exhibition showcasing the Artist & Homeless Collaborative. The exhibition is particularly poignant following local debates, protests, and controversy over the relocation of unhoused men from congregant shelters into hotels on the Upper West Side during the past year.
